Syntax

Id (Default)

Set-FilesSecret [-Id] <System.Int64> [-Name <System.String>] [-Description <System.String>] [-SecretType <System.String>] [-Metadata <System.Collections.IDictionary>] [-Connection <FilesCom.PowerShell.FilesConnection>] [-WorkspaceScope <System.Int64>] [-NoWorkspaceScope] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]

InputObject

Set-FilesSecret [-Name <System.String>] [-Description <System.String>] [-SecretType <System.String>] [-Metadata <System.Collections.IDictionary>] -InputObject <FilesCom.PowerShell.Models.Secret> [-Connection <FilesCom.PowerShell.FilesConnection>] [-WorkspaceScope <System.Int64>] [-NoWorkspaceScope] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]

Description

Update Secret.

The command accepts secrets from the pipeline as -InputObject, and uses each one's Id and the connection that fetched it.

When given -InputObject, the command updates that object with the values Files.com returns and writes it.

The command supports -WhatIf, which describes the change without sending it to Files.com, and -Confirm, which asks before sending it. It asks for confirmation by default; use -Confirm:$false in scripts that have already decided.

Examples

Example 1: Update Secret

Set-FilesSecret -Id 1 -Name 'Production API token' -Description 'Used by production API integrations.'

Writes the secret as Files.com returns it.

Example 2: Act on secrets from the pipeline

Get-FilesSecret -Id 1 | Set-FilesSecret -Name 'Production API token' -Description 'Used by production API integrations.'

Takes the secret from the pipeline and uses its Id and connection.

Example 3: Preview the change

Set-FilesSecret -Id 1 -Name 'Production API token' -Description 'Used by production API integrations.' -WhatIf

Describes the change without sending anything to Files.com.
